If you are looking for online jobs paying through a bank account, this is a good list to get you started. It isn’t all-encompassing. There will be other great gigs out there. FlexJobs is my go-to job board as they screen all their leads for legitimacy so you can apply with confidence. Memberships start at just $14.95 per month. Use code WAHWIFE for a discount.
Great response to what I’m sure is a common problem Holly. I also see #jobfairy on Twitter if that is any help. I’m not a Mum but when I was faced with it I set myself up working from home. Writing a blog started me off as I was able to advertise my services on that and via Social Media then. Within a couple of months work started coming in and a year later I was full up – and still am. Good luck Rebecca with whatever you decide to do

Because lawyers are seeking people who match the profile of potential real-life jurors, online jury companies ask detailed questions of applicants. You should never disclose your Social Security number or credit card or banking info. Companies typically pay $10 to $60 to online jurors. Since most online jury companies won’t need a lot of jurors, signing up for multiple companies gives you a better chance of getting picked for “jury duty.”
I am an ESL teacher for VIPKid and I love it! I can work as much or as little as I like depending on what I have going on each week. The curriculum is already made by the company and the kids are eager to learn. All you need is a bachelor’s degree. Any kind of experience working with kids is great too. It was an answer to my prayers when I found this job last year and I feel so great being able to make money and be at home with my kids.

Like virtual assistants, proofreaders can find jobs with almost any business that publishes content online. They provide a second set of eyes for publishers, and can help them create content that looks more polished and professional. Those with specialized skills, like transcript proofreading, can also find work proofreading transcripts for court reporters.
It's not necessary to have a past career as a teacher to become an online tutor, although it can certainly help. If you are well-versed in a particular subject, you can become a tutor in that subject for students who need help with their school work. There are sites like Tutor.com and Chegg that match tutors with students who need their help. You will only need to have a computer and a solid internet connection — and potentially a video conferencing program, as many students prefer to meet with you via video call. Generally, you can choose your own hours, which makes this an ideal job for stay-at-home parents.
Have lots opinions on what works and what doesn't on the web? Then you might just be right for a "career" in remote usability testing. Actually, no one really makes a career at it, but user testers can pick up some extra work reviewing websites or mobile applications that may still be in development. You don't even necessarily have to be very knowledgeable about the Internet because some developers want the beginner's point of view.
Freelance writers can more easily be thought of as a “writer for hire” or someone who is contracted out to write about a particular topic. If you have some writing chops, but don’t want to deal with all the extra work that goes into running a blog, you can hire yourself out and write for newspapers, large online publications and even other bloggers.
I've made a list of online jobs that pay weekly, daily, or multiple times a week.  There are a lot of work at home opportunities that only pay monthly or twice a month, and getting paid that infrequently may not do much to help with immediate financial needs. Please know that this list isn't done and I plan to add to it continuously as I find things that meet this criteria.
Graphic web designers and developers assist by building the best platforms for their clients' needs and maximizing visual and interactive experiences for site visitors. With skills in these areas, working from home is a realistic possibility, especially for providers serving a diverse skill set. If your design dreams include home-based, freelance work, look to these sites for help finding assignments:

What’s more, the burgeoning field of “telehealth” provides quality wages and sometimes full benefits or bonuses. Companies like MedQuist are beginning to hire more at-home support staff, like medical transcriptionists. Haaren estimates they earn between $30,000 and $50,000 a year and says they are eligible for a signing bonus. Similarly, registered nurses working at home earn near the $1,055-per-week industry median to do telephone triage, advising patients about health concerns over the phone.
In increasingly visual, mobile, digital markets, producing engaging content goes beyond text. As a result, video jobs, employment developing infographics and side work creating other specialized content have emerged as realistic stay at home opportunities. In addition to production and design staff, various media outlets rely on independent contractors to manage large-scale marketing efforts and social media campaigns. Bracing for challenges and knowing the value of your work are keys to success, in a field where networking and a diverse skill set help keep work flowing through your home business.
Traditional roles include data entry positions, customer service jobs, and creative pursuits, like writing and design work. And as business goes global, telecommuting opportunities for professionals continue to expand among major corporations. In addition to any number of entrepreneurial ventures, consultants, educators, accountants and other high-profile professionals now practice from remote home offices, rather than centralized facilities. At the same time, customer service providers once tied to brick and mortar call centers have also shifted to remote delivery, enabling contractors to successfully fill orders and resolve customer issues, without leaving home.
Transcription work from home jobs involve listening to audio files and typing out what you hear. While some types of transcription (such as medical) require training, it is possible to break into general transcription with little to no past experience. Before you start digging through the companies below, you may want to read this post about what general transcription involves and this post about the equipment transcribers use.
Unfortunately, opportunistic criminals have devised scams targeting people working from home. Failure to pay and other forms of fraud are commonplace, so it is important to vet potential clients or contract employers before engaging. Due diligence includes a look at the companies or individuals offering work, as well as thorough understanding of the jobs at hand and expected compensation. If you do not feel comfortable with a particular arrangement, follow your instincts and move along to the next opportunity. In time, you'll learn to source and recognize legitimate jobs, so you don't waste time on dead-ends.
Hi, I am a mother of four, as well as a security/safety officer and a small daycare provider.. I have a background in education (worked for local school for about 10yrs) as well as safety (security officer for about 6yrs and took on safety position as an additive about a year and a half ago.). I would really like to be at home with my kids more and with that being said I am interested in data entry or something similar to that…

Tutors find success working at all scholastic levels, teaching general skills and helping students master isolated subjects. In some cases, tutors help students reach a minimum standard, while other efforts strive toward scholarship-level academic excellence. In fact, some students only need specialized assistance when preparing for college entrance exams or foreign language tests.
What It Is: What better way to alleviate your travel bug than to work as a remote travel agent or consultant? Whether part- or full-time, spend your working hours dreaming up itineraries, flight plans, hotels, and activities for clients looking to travel far and wide. Then, take advantage of your discounts (hey, perks of the job) and go wherever your heart desires, whenever your heart desires.

Your side job doesn't have to feel like work. If you are never without a pair of knitting needles, spend your free time sewing funny cross-stitch samplers, or have a full woodworking shop in the basement where you make toy chests and doll furniture, consider selling your crafts on etsy.com, the artists' marketplace. The amount of money you make depends on how much you list for sale and how many sales you make. But if you are already spending your time creating beautiful crafts, why not also get paid for it?

The company list below is based on an analysis of over 50,000 companies in FlexJobs’ database and looks specifically at the part-time job posting histories that offered the highest number of either full or partial telecommute options. These part-time, remote jobs, which require less than 40 hours per week, were posted from July 1 through October 1, 2018.

Virtual assistants, commonly referred to as VAs, come in all shapes and sizes. Many companies will hire VAs if they are looking for help with online administrative tasks (email, calendar management, data entry, etc), but don’t necessarily want to hire a full time employee just yet. They’re the perfect work from home job for busy people that may need to drop their work at a moments notice, or have very sporadic availability.
As a transcriptionist, you will transcribe either video or voice recordings into written words. Although medical transcription is what usually comes to mind, the fact is that there is now far more need for general transcriptionists. With businesses and bloggers turning increasingly to podcasts and video to reach their audiences, these mediums are often turned into written content for marketing purposes or training materials.
The gig economy and freelancer marketplaces have opened an online market for parents to sell their expertise from home. Parents with a variety of skills, such as accounting, law, finance, social sciences, writing, marketing, or education can create their profiles on these freelance marketplaces where clients can either select you for your services or where you can find jobs.
